Our Story
Cooking with Cuellar was recently born at the peak of the pandemic in December of 2020. As work was becoming more difficult to find and restaurants were closing all over the city due to the pandemic; Chef Christopher was devising a plan to bring the restaurant to the people. As dreams of a food truck was always the end goal; we happened to be approached by a close friend asking Chef to cook for her family. This one event sparked the love and passion behind what you see in the Cooking with Cuellar team.
Since December 4, 2020, Cooking with Cuellar has been dedicated to curating a culinary experience tailored to your family’s needs. If you’re looking for an intimate dinner for two or a simple luncheon for 100 we are here to serve you. We specialize in the in-home chef experience, where my team and I come to your home and serve your family from start to finish. With the in-home chef experience bartenders, servers, chefs, and event coordinators are all available at an affordable cost. We also offer full service catering including rentals for tables, tablecloths, and serving chafers or dishes. Also have simple catering drop offs consisting of simply bringing the hot food to your and home setting up disposable chafers at an exceptionally lower cost than the competition.
The Chef
Chef Christopher Cuellar was born and raised in the Chicago suburb of LaGrange and graduated from Lyons Township High School in 2005. After 12 years in the sales industry, he knew there was something else out there for him. After reaching out to a friend in the culinary industry, Chris enrolled in a 240 hour Culinary Training Program through Cafe Liberty based out of Wheaton, IL. This was a service to help veterans and their families find quick job placement in the culinary field. Upon graduation Chef Christopher found a position as a sous chef with Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant in Oak Park. As work began to get more and more unsteady, Chef decided it was time to bring the experience to the people. From there Cooking With Cuellar was born.
